We're excited to share that is joining the team as a Software Engineer.
Felipe is a staff engineer with 13 years of experience. He knows a lot about building highly scalable services and worked at great companies such as Red Hat and iFood (LATAM's Doordash).

## More about Felipe
**How did you get into coding?**
When I was eleven or twelve I spent lots of time in IRC channels, RPG forums,
and playing video games. Some day I was curious if it was possible to build a
web page for my RPG characters and then I googled “how to create websites”.
From there, I started to learn how to use Adobe Dreamweaver and after some time
I learned a bit of HTML, CSS, and some basic Javascript code. From that moment
I was hooked, and this interest got me to a special high school where I learned
about coding and software development beyond the basic high school classes.
**What does your desktop screen look like?**
Usually like this: an abstract wallpaper with the terminal open with nvim.
**Why are you at Resend?**
I love to build tools for developers and I have been doing that for some years.
When I was looking for a new opportunity and saw how Resend is raising the bar
on how awesome, simple, and easy-to-use developer tools should be, it was an
easy yes.
**Where do you find #inspiration?**
From reading, writing, and learning about other fields outside of software
engineering, to traveling. I also have a keen interest in learning how other
developers work and approach their work. That helps me to have a broader
understanding outside of my focus areas of work.
**If you weren't programming, what would you be doing?**
I like to imagine that I'd be a Red Bull extreme sports athlete 😄 but in
reality, I don't really know.
**Favorite tool?**
Probably is [The Archive](https://zettelkasten.de/the-archive/), a note-taking
app built on top of the
[Zettelkasten](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zettelkasten) and [Notational
Velocity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notational_Velocity) principles. After
trying tons of different note-taking apps, this is the one that best fits my
needs.
**Favorite hotkey?**
`right_cmd+` I have been using [rcmd](https://lowtechguys.com/rcmd/)
for almost two years now and I love it. With it you can switch and open
applications by pressing the right cmd key plus a letter, which is usually the
initial letter of the name of the app, like `rcmd+s` to open Spotify or
`rcmd+c` to open Chrome.
**Favorite place to visit?**
Sao Miguel dos Milagres - AL, Brazil. One of the most astonishingly beautiful
places I have ever been. Relaxing, calm, and still feels like a place that
hasn't changed too much due to human intervention.
**Advice for ambitious developers?**
Try to find the balance between being an excellent software developer while
still keeping an interest in learning and expanding your mind to different
areas of knowledge like philosophy and literature.
